1. The trader and the contract

The service is supplied by Paul Holt trading as M.T.D.O. — Making Tax Digital Online, PO Box 11, Carver Street, Manchester, M16 9BZ. A contract is formed when an order is accepted or payment is confirmed. Save or print these terms with your order reference.

2. What the service includes

M.T.D.O. provides a digital workspace for landlord income and expense records, quarterly preparation packs, draft calculations, reminders, landlord-law information and related account tools. Features are those described on the website for the selected plan at the time of order.

3. What the service does not include

M.T.D.O. is not HMRC-recognised software and does not submit quarterly updates or tax returns. You remain responsible for using recognised compatible software, or an appropriately authorised adviser, to submit accurate information by the applicable deadline.

The service does not provide regulated legal, tax or accountancy advice. Calculators, deadline information and automated checks are general operational aids and should be checked against official guidance and your circumstances.

4. Your responsibilities

  • provide accurate, lawful and complete information;
  • review categories, calculations and quarterly totals before relying on them;
  • keep account access secure and report suspected misuse promptly;
  • retain any records required by law and keep an independent export or copy where appropriate;
  • complete HMRC authorisation and filing through recognised software;
  • obtain professional advice when your circumstances require it.

5. Prices, payment and activation

Prices and any setup charge are shown before an order is created. VAT is added only where applicable and expressly shown. Bank transfer, a 14-day invoice and supported cryptocurrency options may be offered. Cryptocurrency must not be sent until an exact quote is confirmed.

Invoices are due within 14 calendar days. Quote the order reference with every payment. Access is normally activated after payment is confirmed. The current payment desk does not collect card details or create an automatic card or Direct Debit subscription.

A Monthly Flex order covers setup and the first month as stated at checkout; later monthly access requires a further payment or invoice. Annual Complete covers 12 months from activation. Renewal is not automatic unless you separately and expressly authorise a future recurring method.

6. Consumer cancellation and refunds

If you buy as a consumer at a distance, you normally have 14 days from the day after the contract is made to cancel without giving a reason. Email contact@makingtaxdigitalonline.com with your name and order reference, or use the model wording below.

At checkout you may expressly request access to begin as soon as payment is confirmed. If you then cancel during the 14-day period, a proportionate amount may be charged for service supplied up to cancellation. If the service has been fully performed following your express request and acknowledgement, the statutory cancellation right may end. Nothing in these terms removes rights relating to services that are faulty, not as described or not supplied with reasonable care and skill.

Where a refund is due, it will be made without undue delay and normally within 14 days after cancellation is accepted. Refunds for cryptocurrency orders are calculated by reference to the GBP order price; contact M.T.D.O. to agree the lawful and practical refund route. Statutory rights remain unaffected.

MODEL CANCELLATION NOTICE

To: Paul Holt trading as M.T.D.O., PO Box 11, Carver Street, Manchester, M16 9BZ — contact@makingtaxdigitalonline.com

I give notice that I cancel my contract for M.T.D.O. services. Order reference: ____. Ordered on: ____. Name: ____. Address: ____. Date: ____.

7. Ending access after the cooling-off period

You may ask to stop Monthly Flex before the next paid month. No further manual renewal payment will be due, but fees already covering a completed period are not normally refundable unless the service was faulty or the law requires otherwise. Annual customers may stop renewal at any time; access continues to the end of the paid term unless a legal remedy requires a different outcome.

8. Availability and changes

Reasonable care will be taken to keep the service available and data accessible, but uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, security incidents or provider outages may cause temporary interruption. Material reductions to a paid service will be communicated and any remedy required by consumer law will be honoured.

9. Liability

Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights. M.T.D.O. is not responsible for a missed filing, penalty or professional decision where the service boundary was clear and the loss arose from failure to use recognised filing software, inaccurate user data or reliance on general information as individual advice.

10. Intellectual property and acceptable use

The website, software, branding and original content remain the property of their respective owners. Your own records remain yours. Do not misuse the service, attempt unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, infringe another person’s rights or use the service unlawfully.

11. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Consumers retain any mandatory protections and court rights that apply where they live. Questions, complaints and cancellation notices can be sent to contact@makingtaxdigitalonline.com or the postal address above.
